lnhammer: the Chinese character for poetry, red on white background (Default)
"The swamp of current politics is cursed
With rotten deals," proclaims the partisan.
"Administrative toadies are the worst."
Well, no -- they're bdelloid, not batrachian.

—October 2003

Alternate titles include "Leechcraft" and "The Sound of Sucking on the Body Politic." The draft is one of several, marked as "the Still Too Nerdy remix" mainly because "bdelloid" (of, pertaining to, or resembling leeches) is apparently too obscure for common use. Ah, well.

About

Warning: contents contain line-breaks.

As language practice, I like to translate poetry. My current project is Chinese, with practice focused on Tang Dynasty poetry. Previously this was classical Japanese, most recently working through the Kokinshu anthology (archived here). Suggestions, corrections, and questions always welcome.

There's also original pomes in the journal archives.
