Or in English: Even if it rains / that little frog over there / will still croak loudly. I still regret that sukiashigaeru, spadefoot toad, doesn't fit in the lines, as that's the loudmouth around here during summer thunderstorms.

As language practice, I like to translate poetry. My current project is Chinese, with practice focused on Tang Dynasty poetry. Previously this was classical Japanese, most recently working through the Kokinshu anthology (archived here). Suggestions, corrections, and questions always welcome.
