My translation of an anonymous poem from an Japanese anthology compiled around 759 A.D. To be honest, I'm a little shaky on some of the grammar here -- Japanese verb forms being a maze of twisty little passages, all nearly alike, some of which have grues; as such, "thus" is a guess, as is "keep getting older". "While" is not explicit in the original, but some sort of contrast is implied. The original:Fuyu sugite
