lnhammer: the Chinese character for poetry, red on white background (Default)
[personal profile] lnhammer
Today, in lieu of posting a text, I link to the new issue of Ideomancer, where the editors have graciously agreed to publish something of mine, along with excellent poems by Sonya Taafe and Marcie Lynn Tentchoff.

Mine is the poem I privately call "Childe Roland to the Dark Sestina Came." Only, of course, it's a bit more arid and orphic than that.

Arid and Orphic and sestina-like--and WONDERFUL.

Hope you'll put a link in your LJ too, because folks who don't prowl Dreamwidth deserve to know about it as well.

About

Warning: contents contain line-breaks.

As language practice, I like to translate poetry. My current project is Chinese, with practice focused on Tang Dynasty poetry. Previously this was classical Japanese, most recently working through the Kokinshu anthology (archived here). Suggestions, corrections, and questions always welcome.

There's also original pomes in the journal archives.
