No writer has ever impressed
The kittens of Endicott West.
        Musicians? They're boring,
        And artists cause snoring.
No, laps that are empty are best.

I realize you must be referring--or at least, are likely referring--to the Endicott West art studio. But I first thought of Elizabeth Endicott-West, a scholar of the Mongols and the Yuan dynasty.

About

Warning: contents contain line-breaks.

As language practice, I like to translate poetry. My current project is Chinese, with practice focused on Tang Dynasty poetry. Previously this was classical Japanese, most recently working through the Kokinshu anthology (archived here). Suggestions, corrections, and questions always welcome.

There's also original pomes in the journal archives.
