I'm at a loss as to how to understand the particle no in the third line, following the bush warbler -- it doesn't seem to attach to anything in the rest of the poem, and it doesn't look like the sentence-ending construction existed yet. But this should be the general sense of things, unless maybe the bird's being addressed. The funky syntax is to mimic the inverted sentence order.shirushi naki
