Original by Ono ni Komachi. Pivot-word: omo(h)i = "longing" / hi = "flame" -- the fires of love treated as a physical, light-giving object. "For" and "traveling" are interpolations: the former is the implied relationship between the independent sentences, and the latter (or some synonym) is the implied-but-missing verb of the direct object "path of dreams".kagiri naki

Komachi is indeed 31 kinds of wonderful as poet -- there's reasons I was compelled to translate all of them. Or at least, all from the KKS -- I feel I ought to translate the four in the GSS that are also likely reliable attributions, but I haven't been arsed enough to track down the texts. But speaking of the KKS texts, there's only two more of those.
(BTW, I've been meaning to ask for a while: in that icon, why are the spines on the books all facing outward???)
